8/16/2010 - Woodcarving Illustrated will be running a 'how-to' article written by Vincent and David in an upcoming issue, as well as information on the book.
 

8/10/2010 -  The Beverly Bee will run an article in October by David Giannetto on what it was like growing up learning to carve from his father.
 

7/28/2010 - The banners at the bottom of the home page are the working designs for the new Tuckerton Seaport Exhibit opening September 24th.
 

7/23/2010 - New items continue to be added to the store.  Should be complete over the next week or so.
 

7/20/2010 - NJ Monthly Magazine will run the article in their September issue to coincide with the book's release.  Thank-you to writer Thomas McDonough for doing the article.   http://njmonthly.com/
 

7/15/2010 - Museum exhibit set-up will begin September 6, 2010.  With the formal opening September 25th.
 

7/2/2010 - BIG NEWS.  The Tuckerton Seaport and Museum will be running a 6 month exhibit on the book starting mid-September 2010, with the official opening date being September 25th during the Ocean Country Gunning and Decoy Show Sept 24-25.  David Giannetto will design the exhibit and serve as Guest Curator to the museum.  View the poster for more details on the exhibit.  More news to follow.  The draft show poster is now available here.
 

6/18/2010 - The book has left the USA to be printed overseas, and will arrive in full print here September 15-17, 2010 for the first time.

6/1/2010 - The Decoy Artist Store is now available.  It will feature the entire catalog of Vincent Giannetto, III decoys and hand-made items, the book, decoys from the book, wildlife photography and related items.

5/10/2010 - The book has been received back from the publisher in typeset copy.  Next step is to get it back to them with any formal and layout changes by this Friday.  There might be one or two additional typeset version, and then it will be complete...
 

4/19/2010 - the book with its first official edits by the book's official Pelican Editor, Heather Green, have been received.  They mostly consist of grammar, spelling and minor wording changes (those of you who know me will know that these have never been my strength...).  The revised manuscript is due back by  April 26th.  Once received it will be typeset. 
 

4/14/2010 - An old article by a European writer that joined us for a hunt.  A lot of what became the central ideas and themes for this book came out of writings like this.

4/6/2010 - The latest edition of The Beverly Bee, the newspaper servicing towns along the Delaware River, has a short article and 2 photographs relative to the book coming out in its latest edition.  Pick up a copy to read more!
 

4/2/2010 - OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE ANNOUNCED....  September 15, 2010 is the official release date.  The book is listed as 272 pages, with approximately 121 illustrations covering a period of over 100 years and will carry a list price of $39.95.  It is listed in the following categories: Art/ Photography & Architecture - Fine Arts & Graphic Arts - Art Reference/ Collecting (A).  ISBN: 1589807685.  ISBN-13: 9781589807686.
 

3/25/2010 - All additional photos have been taken and will be sent off to Pelican this week.  Stay tuned, an update on the photo contents will be update on the site next week.

   

2/28/2010 - Pelican has request approximately 50 more photos of decoys from across the 5 decades of Vincent's career.  These will be taken over the next 3 weeks.  Any collectors that wish to have Giannetto decoys that they won included in the book please send me an email.

2/12/2010 - News from Pelican...  The book will most likely be available in print for the first time  in August 2010.  The Decoy artist will be the first major release out of their Fall 2010 catalogue and out in time for the 2010 waterfowl hunting season.
 

2/11/2010 - The subtitle for the book will most likely be "America's Last Hunter-Carver", but Pelican will make their final decision likely within the next month or so.

1/19/2010 - Rob Leslie has provided two paintings for the book.  The picture below is of two Vincent Giannetto, III decoys entitles "Old and New".  It features an older Black Duck decoy that is central to the story in the book, and a new Black duck decoy that won Best-of-show in approximately 2001.  The other painting is available for sale via his website.  I will link to it shortly.

1/7/2010 - Rob Leslie has completed a painting of two Vincent Giannetto, III Black Ducks for the book.  Haven't seen it yet, but it should be as amazing as all his work is. 

 

1/6/2010 - Happy New Year everyone.  It has been a busy holiday season.  The book was submitted to Pelican on December 28th.  The final count was over 65,000 words, 51 pictures and 18 illustrations.

11/11/2009 - Thank-you to everyone at the Independence Seaport in Philadelphia for their assistance and support today.

11/7/2009 - Manuscript first draft complete.

11/5/2009 - Thank-you to everyone at the Bayshore Discovery Project for allowing me to review their photo achieves and use several photos.

11/1/2009 - Thank-you to everyone at the Salem Historical Society for allowing to review their photo archives and potentially use several photos.

10/4/2009 - Kate Fitzpatrick, the grand-daughter of the legendary Delaware River Rat Tom Fitzpatrick who makes several appearances in the book, has agreed to provide pictures in support of the book.

  

10/4/2009 -  The Noise Museum, Oceanport, NJ - Has agreed to provide pictures in support of the book.

  

10/4/2009 -  The Bayshore Discovery Project, Bivalve, NJ - Has agreed to provide pictures in support of the book.

  

10/3/2009 - The Delaware River Riverfront Association has agreed to provide pictures in support of the book and has request an talk and book signing event in 2010.

  

10/2/2009 - The Tuckerton Seaport is considering book signing events at 4 events next year in support of the book.  May, June, August and September.

  

10/1/2009 - The Tuckerton Seaport and Museum will be providing pictures in support of the book and is considering running an exhibit during 2010 that will tie in with the book.
